Rustic Table Setting

Now that the Holidays are over...I am finally finding the time to jump back into decorating the house!
Everyone always told me that you'll think you have a ton of decorations but it won't be enough.
There will be SO much room to fill.
They weren't lying! I had so much stuff before I moved into my house and it's made the smallest dent. I decided to tackle my large dining table this last week.
My whole front room is pretty rustic, so I decided to go with something pretty rustic for the table.
This is the first time I have ever had a table to decorate and I am soo new to this and I am soo indecisive that it's taken me a while to figure out exactly what to do.
This is my current place setting situation:
I started with the burlap place mats. This is the main piece I wanted to build around because burlap is SO rustic.
I got them from Hobby Lobby for 50% off ($2.00 a each).
Next, I went for the dark chocolate charger plates from Hobby Lobby ($1.99 each).
Then I found a set of 8 plates from Target that were this really nice creamy color ($20.99 for 8).

Then, I wanted to put some color on the table and I decided to go with turquoise napkins. Reason being, that on my wall next to the table, I have a lot of turquoise rustic style frames, so I thought it would play off of it really nicely.
I got these napkins from Pier 1 Imports on sale for ($2.48 each).

I couldn't decide if I wanted to order some burlap with lace napkin holders that I had found on Etsy or just see what it looked like with some jute tied around the napkins bow-tie style.
Turns out I really like the way the jute looked with the burlap place mats.

Here's a look of the whole table:
Below you can see the wall that I am trying to play the colors off of...and let me tell you this picture is driving me CRAZY since the place mat at the end isn't centered! GRR! OCD at it's finest! Ha.
Also, here is a closer look at the wall...I need so much more but I thought this was a great start!
All of the frames are from Hobby Lobby.
Now this is where I need some help!
I have NO clue what to put in the center of my table.
I thought about getting a bunch of different sized cream colored candles and putting them at all different heights...or something?
I really have no clue what route to go for a centerpiece.
I am open to any and ALL opinions so please comment below and give me some ideas! I would love the help!

Thanks for stopping by you guys! :)

Grout Makes Me Grouchy

One of the things in the house we just bought that has been driving my crazy is the grout!
The previous owner updated just about everything in the house when we bought it.
It was built in 2007.
But, the grout was just HORRIBLE!

I was on a mission to either clean it until it was perfect or figure something else out if that didn't work.

So, I tried the whole bleach mixed with dove mixed with baking soda route.
It worked for the most part but it took a while for it to work and a lot of my time. Which I didn't have. You literally had to sit there, scrub and scrub...which does get messy and then let it sit, then wipe it down...and if you have dogs or children...forget about it!

I found this stuff at our local hardware store that one of the employees swore by.
I decided to give it a go and let me tell you...LOVE it!
This stuff did wonders for my grout and made it look completely new again.
Plus, it was really simple.
All you have to do is shake the bottle and press it until the white comes out of the sponge and press it to your grout along the line.

Once you do that, I took paper towels and I wiped the excess off my tile and rubbed in the line a little so it wasn't such a BRIGHT white.

It was so simple and didn't take any time at all.
It literally made my grout look brand new. I absolutely love it!

Check out the results!
You can see here the difference between the two.

ANNNDDD you can see the other current project I've been working on!
Gel-staining my cabinets! I'll definitely have a tutorial up about that too.
The results are amazing. I just finished our master bath and guest bathroom and I am SOOO happy with the results!
I haven't finished the entire kitchen just yet because I wanted to be able to show the difference between the old and the new. So far looks like it's going to look brand new!
You'll also need to buy a sealant to insure it'll last you a good while!

Let me know what you guys think!
I can't wait to show ya'll the cabinets I've been slaving over.
I'm hoping to have the kitchen done in the next week or so.
It's kind of a process but the end result is AMAZING.

HAPPY MONDAY!

Sunday Social

Here's this weeks Sunday Social!
Don't forget to link up!

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?
Luckily, I don't think I have a lot to change...I don't eat fast food....UNLESS
it's an emergency or we are on the road traveling or something. Which is not often!
We keep healthy food in the house so we don't have any junk around to eat...I think that helps the most in not eating poorly! :)

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the holidays?
Squats squats squats!
You don't understand the booty you can have when you do some squats!
Leg day is by far my most fave!
Try this squat challenge! I've done it several times!

3. What is your favorite thing you did over the holidays?
Spend time with all my family!
From my dad's side to my mom's side to my boyfriend's family.
There are so many people to see through the whole year and sometimes we are just too busy so it's nice to have a time of year for everyone to get together!

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2014 that you did not in 2013?
Paint my house! :)
I thought we would settle in a few months and then get to it...but, that didn't happen.
So, that's first on our to do list.
Picking colors is the hardest though. I don't know how I'm going to decide!

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.
1. My best friend is getting married in October! I can not wait! She is getting married in New Orleans and I'm her maid of honor! It's going to be so fun!
2. Watching my new pup Diesel grow and bond with Zoey! So far so good! They LOVE each other and play non-stop. She just has no idea how much bigger he's going to get! Haha.
3. Hopefully getting to travel this year! Some friends of ours are dying to knock off a few places from their bucket list. Our top 3 to try and visit this year are:

1. Boston
2. Las Vegas
3. Nashville

Pink Wedding Dresses: DO or DON'T

I do I do I do!
Love pink wedding dresses!

The always adorable Kaley Cuoco just got married over the weekend wearing a super unique pink dress and I love it!

I don't know if it's because they are so unique or the girly side of me is loving it because it's pink?
Probably both.
I would definitely not be opposed to having a pink dress.
I find my style to be pretty rustic. Burlap and mason jars for sure.
So, I think a really pretty blush pink dress would be PERFECT for a rustic wedding!
Kaley's dress is VERY pink compared to some of the others I've seen though.
But, I love how much fun it looks like she is having and how she went outside the traditional box!

So hands down DO for a pink wedding dress for me!

Here are some of the other celebs who have also done pink wedding dresses:
Gwen Stefani was one of the firsts to be bold and have a lot of pink on her dress!
Portia de Rossi has a perfect balance of blush and white in her wedding dress.
LOVED Jessica Biel's dress. So princess like to me with all that chiffon!
Is Reese Witherspoon not just FLAWLESS? Her dress was simple but gorgeous too!
Jenna Dewan-Tatum had such a gorgeous dress with all the blush colored feathers! One of my favorites!

So what are your thoughts on a pink wedding dress? Too out there? Not traditional enough?

Let me know what you think and comment below!

Key Ring App Review

Ladies, if you haven't already heard about Key Ring...DOWNLOAD IT NOW! Lol. It's free!
My mom is the one who told me about Key Ring and let me tell you it just lightened my purse a few pounds.
Do you ever get tired of carrying around ALL those shopper reward cards or gift cards?
This app lets you do that and I just love it!
It's super easy to use!
It's as simple as taking a quick scan of your bar code on your card (if you don't have one no worries).
It will scan the card, make sure the numbers match up, then you choose from a HUGE list of stores to match the bar code with (store not listed no worries again).
Then you can scan pictures of the front and back of the card.

If your store isn't listed it will let you manually type in the store and also manually type in your bar code as well. It's error proof for me!

After that, when you want to use your card you just click which one, click the red arrow, and the bar code will pop up for the retailer to scan for you.
When you don't have a bar code, it will generate one for you, or you can click won't scan and the number of your account will pop up in large letters for the retailer to enter.
I think I put about 20 cards in the app already and I'm loving it.

Also, when you add them for certain stores, it will generate coupons and have the weekly offers from each retailer.

There are new ones every week.

Plus, it will suggest cards to sign up for in your area with coupons attached.
So, check it out if you're like me with a million of those cards floating around your purse!
I had to get a completely different little wallet to keep mine in so that my wallet wasn't bursting at the seams! So this helped eliminate that!
