DIY: Candle To Useable Jar

So, I have been wondering what I should do with my Bath & Body Works candle jars.
I definitely didn't want to throw them away because they are just too cute to toss!

***Btw, how much do we love the wine bottle reflection in that pic. Oops! Haha.***

I remember a long time ago I had watched missglamorazzi's YouTube video on how she GIY-ed (yes, GIY her version of DIY but Glam It Yourself!)(SO cute!) her used up candle jar.
How gorgeous is she?!
So, it definitely inspired me to make something out of mine!

Here is what you'll need:
Used Up Candle
Knife
Hot Water
Dish Soap
Nail Polish Remover
Cotton Swab
Knob
Glue or Glue Gun

Here are the steps I took to transform the candle into a useable jar:

1. Put your candle in the freezer for several hours. I would say 2 at least!
2. Remove from the freezer and trace around the sides of the jar with a knife.
3. Insert the knife in different parts of the candle and twist so the wax will crack.
4. Remove the wax from the candle.
5. Once the wax is removed, grab a microwave safe glass and heat up some water in it.
6. Carefully pour the water into the candle (over sink) so that the hot water will loosen the glue on the bottom of the wicks. Swirl this around and remove wicks with a knife by scraping them off.
7. Wash the jar wish dish soap to get any residue out. Then dry it off. Also remove the sticker.
8. If there is any residue left you can use a cotton swab with nail polish remover to remove it. This also works to remove any residue left from the stickers.

9. Next, using a hot glue gun or glue, you can add a knob or anything you would like on the top of the jar. I chose this knob I got from Hobby Lobby to add to the top of mine.

There you have it! You can do this as many times as you want with as many candles as you have! I will be using mine to put my q-tips in on my vanity.

Here are some other ways to use the jar:

Makeup Brushes (without the lid of course)
Cotton Balls/Swabs
Lipsticks
Dental Pickers
Candy

If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, they have a TON of really great knobs to choose from there. I mean a TON. Also, a lot of the time they are half off! I got this knob for about $1.50!
Here's a preview of what you have to choose from:

Thanks for stopping by!
