My 2013 Year Through Pictures

2013 is finally coming to an end!
I feel like this year I have accomplished so much this year from a new house, new job, and just a ton of changes! But, I am so thankful for every one of them!

This year I...
Started our weekly girls day with my best friends.
Got to witness and help put together Taylor's sisters engagement.
Ran a 5k Color Vibe run with my mom.
Worked the Rodeo cook off for 3 days straight! So fun!
Went to Lady Antebellum with my love.
Had a really fun zoo trip with my little sisters.
Went to Taylor Swift with my little sister.
Had my lovely mom as my date to one of my oldest friend Becca's wedding!
Added this little cutie to the family. I can't believe how big she is now!
I also obsessively took a thousand pictures of Zoey. :)
Had a ton of really fun pool days with my friends this Summer!
Bought our first house!
Had my sister as my first guest in the new house! She lives about 5 hours away so it was so good to have the time with her!
Got to play dress up with my cousin to take pictures for my Aunt's boutique.
Helped plan yet another engagement! My best friends! I'm her maid of honor and AJ is her man of honor.
Headed to Hawaii for vacation and a wedding!
Made Taylor take ANOTHER annoying selfie. Ha!
Had an amazing day by the pool in Hawaii and finally got to relax.
Witnessed the beautiful Chantelle and Rocky tie the knot!
Saw the most unique trees I've ever seen in my life in Maui!
Turned 26!
Was lucky to spend Thanksgiving with the little sisters. Gotta love the matching scarfs!
Welcomed Diesel to the family.
Drove to my Aunt and Uncle's to spend time with my Mom's side of the family and do Christmas.
And finally, last night I got to spend time with my love since he will be working on New Years Eve now.
We had so much fun!

I just wanted to share with you my year through pictures and wish you all a Happy New Year!
I hope 2014 is all you wish it to be and more! :)

New Years Champagne Inspired Cocktails

Trying to adjust after the Holidays has been so hectic!
Coming back from out of town and organizing the house with all the new goodies was really fun for me since I love cleaning things out and organizing anything at all.
I also had time to put away all the Christmas stuff and start on my project of gel staining our cabinets. I started in the guest bath and moved to ours and eventually next week we are going to tackle the kitchen.
I'll have tons of pics on that later. It's looking awesome and I've only spent $30 so far!

I wanted to share with you guys my favorite New Years cocktails!
I used to bartend for MANY MANY years so I usually get designated as the party drink maker!
Since New Years always requires some Champs...I wanted to share with you some Champagne inspired cocktails!
Here are a few of my faves!

Peachy-tini
2 oz. Grey Goose Peach or any Peach Vodka
1 part Champagne
1 part Peach Schnapps

Shake the 2 oz. peach vodka with the peach schnapps.
Pour into glass or martini glass.
Top with champagne.

This is one of my favorites! It's light and tastes SO good!
It would be good for a different take on your midnight toast!

Blue Lagoon
1 oz. Vodka
1/4 oz. Lemon Juice
2-3 dashes Triple Sec
2-3 dashes Blue Curacao
Champagne

Shake the vodka, lemon juice, triple sec, and blue curacao.
Pour into glass.
Add champagne.
Garnish with lemon slice.

Flirtini
2 pieces pineapple
.5 oz. Cointreau (Orange Liquor)
.5 oz. Vodka
1 oz. pineapple juice
3 oz. Champagne

Shake cointreau, vodka, and pineapple juice together.
Pour in glass.
Add champagne.
Garnish with pineapple.

Hope you guys get to try some of these! They are so tasty! :)
Also, don't shake the champagne with the other ingredients!
The carbonation will make the shaker either explode or fizz everywhere.

Happy New Year!

Sunday Social

Here's this weeks Sunday Social!
Don't forget to link up!

1. What is the best New Years Eve you've ever had?
I would have to say the best New Year's I've ever had was about 3 years ago when my boyfriend and I went to dinner and then went back to our apartment at the time and just hung out and watched movies and drank wine.
It was so nice to have a simple night with just us two!

2. Are you doing anything for NYE this year and if so what?
We haven't really decided just yet.
Our friend owns a local bar so we were thinking we would go there to hang out this year.
For once my boyfriend isn't working this Holiday so it's going to be nice to actually get to make some plans and hang out with some friends!

3. Name a book we should all read come January?
It's so hard to pick just one! I have read so many books in the last year!
I read many many Jackie Collins books. They are my guilty pleasure.
I think I own every single one she's ever written.
But, the one that sticks out most is The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe.
I'm a huge Marilyn fan and this book was REALLY good.

4. What are your new year's resolutions?
I think this year it's going to be to try and spend more time with extended family.
We all get so busy and caught up sometimes.
I just want to spend more time with my dad's side of the family, like my cousins and my aunts.
Especially my dad's dad.
He's been very sick lately and I know I need to be with him as much as I can before it's too late to see him anymore.
Also, I want to try and be a LITTTTLE more patient! :)

Meet Diesel

We got a new addition to the family this weekend!
This is Diesel! Our new Bull Mastiff!

My boyfriend decided he wanted to go ahead and get our second dog!
We used to have a bull mastiff a few years ago and he was seriously the best dog I've had my entire life!
He was so well mannered, played with the little dogs so well, and was such a good listener!
So, I couldn't really say no when the boyfriend called and said he wanted to go pick up this little guy a few hours from where we lived.
Here he is before he came home with Taylor.
Look at that wrinkly face!
At first, I have to admit I wasn't excited to get a new dog around the holidays...but once he came home...I completely changed my mind.
He's a little sweetie!
I am so thankful he's playing really well with Zoey too.
They are getting along great and just play and play with each other until they both just pass out from exhaustion! Lol.
Of course, she tells him what's up though.
Pretty sure she is still going to be the boss of the house.
She was nice enough to share her toys too!
Well, that's Diesel! He should get up to about 120 pounds or more..HUGEEEE I know!
Love this little guy though!
My dad's favorite time of year was Christmas so every year is pretty hard.
So getting this new puppy has really lift my spirits and I'm so thankful for that!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve you guys!

Sunday Social

Here's this weeks Sunday Social!
Don't forget to link up!

1. What is your favorite holiday season tradition?
I think it would have to be baking cookies.
We usually do sugar cookies and ice them and sprinkle them like crazy!
I just recently made Funfetti Cake Batter Cookies and posted the recipe!

2. Do you have a certain holiday movie you watch more than others? If so what is it?
It would have to be Elf.
It's one of the last movies I ever got to watch with my father before he passed away.
He really loved Christmas so it really brings back awesome memories!

3. Show us your favorite decoration or pinterest decoration you wish you could have.
I love love these Christmas trees.
I've seen a ton of DIY posts about these and there are so many different ways to make them.
Most are easily made with the foam tree forms you can get from Hobby Lobby!

4. What is your favorite holiday song?
This is the hardest question for me!
I love Christmas music SOO much!
So much so, I even have a whole post of my top ten favorites!
If I had to pick just one, it would have to be All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey.

5. What is your favorite holiday dessert?
Call me the cookie monster because I just LOOOOVEEEEE cookies! :)
My Aunt's mom makes the BEST sugar cookies every Christmas.
Can't ever get enough!

6. What is on your wish list this year?
I really had a hard time trying to figure out what I wanted on my wish list this year.
My poor boyfriend has been asking me and I just don't have a clue what to tell him!
I really just don't think I need anything right now.
If I had to pick one thing though...I've been really wanting a pink Kitchen Aid mixer!

I've been having so much fun with these Sundays Socials!
Comment below if you link up! Would love to see your answers! :)
